Dear WRF community,
I am conducting high-resolution urban climate simulations using WRF-4.7.1 with a 61-class LCZ-based land-use configuration for an African coastal city.
I would like to assess urban greening as a heat-adaptation strategy using Green Vegetation Fraction(GVF) sensitivity experiments (20%, 30%, 50%, and 75%), similar to those reported in “Toward a climate-resilient desert, coastal city…" Redirecting
I would appreciate guidance on the correct implementation. Specifically:
If anyone has implemented a similar GVF/LCZ sensitivity experiment, I would greatly appreciate any advice, example workflow, or script.
Best regards,
Julius Akinyoola

I would appreciate guidance on the correct implementation. Specifically:
- Should GVF be modified in geo_em, met_em, or wrfinput?
- Which variable should be modified (VEGFRA, LANDUSEF, or another field)?
- Do the 20–75% scenarios represent absolute GVF or increases relative to the control?
- How can GVF be modified while preserving the existing LCZ/urban morphology?
If anyone has implemented a similar GVF/LCZ sensitivity experiment, I would greatly appreciate any advice, example workflow, or script.
Best regards,
