Postdoctoral Position on Numerical Geophysical Fluid Dynamics with MPAS at the University of São Paulo

New member
The FAPESP Research Programme on Global Climate Change project on Numerical Methods for a New Generation of Weather and Climate Models invites applications for up to 2 postdoctoral positions to work at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of São Paulo. The positions are for two years, and renewable twice for up to four years, with no teaching responsibilities. We are looking for candidates with strong research potential in numerical methods for geophysical fluid dynamics to work on developing methods for global weather and climate models, in particular, considering MPAS model.

  • Profile: Young researcher obtaining or having obtained a PhD in the past 7 years, with experience in numerical methods for fluid dynamics, atmosphere/ocean modelling, and programming in Fortran/C/C++.
  • Location: Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of São Paulo – Brazil
  • Contract: Post-doctoral position financed by FAPESP. This is a research-only position, with no teaching or admin duties. (Details: Post-doctoral fellowships)
