Simple Question about WRF Restart

Hello,

I was wondering if the cloud microphysics and/or surface fluxes could be turned off when using a restart file. For example, I leave the first 12 hours of the simulation for model spin-up, allowing the feature I'm analyzing to developed with all model physics active. From that point forward, I'd like to turn off microphysics heating and surface fluxes to see how the subsequent development is impacted. Is this possible with a restart file?

Thanks,
Kevin Boyd

Hi Kevin,
You can turn off microphysics heating and surface fluxes for your restart run. However, note that the restart file includes microphysics heating and surface fluxes at the beginning of your restart time, after that they will be zero.
