ST and SM

Hi! I am trying to run WRF with JRA-3Q data. For the soil moisture and temperature (ST and SM) I have 7 available soil levels, but they are all stored in the same grib variable. Will WPS be able to process this? Because I read here (Chapter 3: WRF Standard Initialization) that it actually expects this format: SMtttbbb and STtttbbb. Or is SM and ST fine as well?
 
In this case, I believe you will need to split ST and SM to data at individual levels.
In addiiton, METGRID.TBL may need to be modified according to the soil levels of your data.
