Hello,
I have been trying to measure wind speeds at different height levels for comparison with recorded observations. Are the "ua" and "va" which are the mass averaged horizontal velocity components also earth rotated?

Hello,

The 'ua' and 'va' are map relative, not earth relative. You need to use 'uvmet' from wrf_user_getvar to compare to observations.
