WRF-FIRE: adding fuel density and/or fuel-moisture-content to WPS and /phys fire modules

Hi Everyone,

The WRF-Fire examples/tutorials are configured to process through WPS the 'NFUEL_CAT' and 'ZSF' fields for the fuel categories and higher resolution topography, respectively.
Does anyone encounter a link/tutorial on how to ingest fuel-density and/or fuel-moisture-content maps through WPS, and subsequently chain it properly into the /phys fire modules?

Any pointer would help.

Thanks in advance,
Jacob

Hello!

While this software is more for WRF-SFIRE, it will still work with WRF FIRE. I don’t really know how to input it manually, but I’m pretty sure there are tutorials on openwfm site. The software is called wrfxpy. It’s free to download and use, you just need conda.
