Hi all,
I struggle to activate the new wind farm option in WRFv4.6.0 using windfarm_opt=2.
I don't get any differences in the wind field when using the option windfarm_opt=2 (even with default wake model and overlap). Wind turbine file created as winturbines-ll.txt following example here WRF Physics — WRF Users Guide documentation. For the record I tried 11 combinations of the new options, but the model doesn't consider any. Funny enough when I removed all wind farm files (.tbl and .txt) and kept windfarm_opt=2, the model didn't crash, nor output any indications that is looking for a file winturbines-ll.txt or windturbines.txt. (windfarm_opt=1 Fitch is running ok and if the coordinates file is missing the model crashes).
If you managed to run a wind farm with windfarm_opt=2, could you please share your experience and what combination of options for wake and overlap worked? Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Irina
