The 2025 Joint MPAS/WRF Users Workshop is scheduled for 3-6 June in Boulder Colorado. Based on the evolving budget landscape in a number of organizations, we will not be charging a registration fee for virtual participants to this year’s meeting. We also reiterate that there is no fee to submit an abstract for either virtual or in-person talks. It is the organizing committee’s intent to conduct a hybrid (in-person and virtual attendance) workshop. We are, however, aware that budget constraints may significantly impact in-person attendance. We are monitoring abstract submissions and registrations to determine if there are a sufficient number of people attending in person to justify a hybrid meeting. If not, we will conduct a virtual MPAS/WRF Users Workshop over the 3-6 June period. We are extending the abstract submission deadline to 12 noon Mountain Daylight Time Monday 5 May 2025. The organizing committee intends to make the decision between a hybrid (in-person and virtual) or virtual workshop and announce that decision by the end of the day on Monday 5 May. If you can, register early so that we can have a more accurate gauge on the in-person attendance. And if the workshop becomes a virtual one, your registration fees will be fully refunded. If you have already registered to attend the workshop virtually, the fee will be refunded to you.
To summarize:
- There is no registration fee for virtual attendees to the 2025 MPAS/WRF Users Workshop.
- The deadline for submitting abstracts is 12 noon MDT Monday 5 May 2025.
- The organizing committee will be making a decision between a hybrid or entirely virtual workshop on Monday 5 May and communicating it to the community by the end of that day.
Thank you for your understanding and patience in these challenging times, and we hope to see you in person or virtually at the workshop!
