The next WRF Tutorial class will be held: 14-18 July, 2025
The tutorial will be VIRTUAL. All meeting times will be in U.S. Mountain time.
There will only be one week of Basic WRF classes. There will be no additional WRF content (e.g., WRF-Chem, WRFDA, WRF-Hydro, WRF-fire) taught during this session.
Hosts: NCAR Mesoscale & Microscale Meteorology Laboratory
Tutorial Focus:
The tutorial will consist of lectures on various components of the WRF modeling system for the Advanced Research WRF (WRF-ARW), along with hands-on practice sessions. Topics include:
- WRF Preprocessing System
- WRF Dynamics and Numerics
- WRF Physics
- WRF Computing
- Post-processing and Graphical Tools
Due to limited resources, we can only accommodate a maximum of 70 participants. A wait list will be established for later approved applicants.
Registration fees:
Full-time U.S. University Students - $50
All Others - $100

- Apply early, as registration always exceeds capacity!
- After you submit your application, you will receive an email acknowledging your submission. At that time your registration will be PENDING.
- Approval notifications will be sent within 2 weeks of the time the application is submitted.
- If approved, you will receive another email to confirm your position in the course, and you will be required to make your payment at that time.
- If your application is not approved, you will receive an email letting you know.
