The next WRF Tutorial will be held: 12-15 October, 2026
The tutorial will be VIRTUAL. All meeting times will be in U.S. Mountain time.
This tutorial only covers Basic WRF. There will be no content on other WRF components (e.g., WRF-Chem, WRFDA, WRF-Hydro, WRF-fire).
Hosts: NSF NCAR Mesoscale & Microscale Meteorology Laboratory
Tutorial Focus:
The tutorial will consist of lectures on various components of the WRF modeling system for the Advanced Research WRF (WRF-ARW), along with hands-on practice sessions. Topics include:
- WRF Preprocessing System
- WRF Physics
- WRF Computing
- Post-processing and Graphical Tools
The tutorial can accommodate a maximum of 70 participants. A wait list will be established for later approved applicants.
Registration fees:
Full-time U.S. University Students - $50
All Others - $100

- Apply early, as registration always exceeds capacity!
- After submitting your application, you’ll receive an email confirming your application has been received. At that time your registration will be PENDING.
- Approval notifications will be sent within 2 weeks of the time the application is submitted.
- If approved, you will receive another email to confirm your position in the course, and you will be required to make your payment at that time.
- If your application is not approved, you will receive an email letting you know.
