I follow Kelly's post "How do I add a new 3d variable in tslist?" to add radar
reflectivity to time series, and did a 30 minutes test. It looks like the
output radar reflectivity time series only update every 10-minute (in stead of every time step) .
Is there anything else I need to change besides share/wrf_timeseries.F and
Registry/Registry.EM_COMMON ?

Hi,
Are the other variables updating more often than every 10 minutes? Can you attach your namelist.input file so that I can take a look? Thanks!

Hi Kelly,

My namelist.input file is attached. I test it in cheyenne
/glade/scratch/mingge/WRFV4.2.2_intel_dmpar/Thomson_YSU/sgp_20140605_12:00:00_L1_refl

The output radar reflectivity time series is constant over 10min. I wonder if this is because radar reflectivity is diagnosed, so it is calculated at the time of wrfout instead of every time step

Thank you

Ming

Hi Ming,
I am so sorry about the delay in response. I took a couple of weeks off for the holidays and am just getting settled back in. I spoke to another colleague about this and they said If you are seeing a discontinuous jump at a history time (or when ever the diagnostics are done), then you are probably correct that the reason is that radar reflectivity is diagnosed and therefore calculated at the time the file is written, instead of every time step. What does the longer time series show?
