hi,
I am trying to test morrison_aci scheme. when the parameter aercu_opt = 1 or 2, the model crushes after seconds of strat. the rsl message does not provide much information. It can go successfully on real.exe. I have tested to enlarge the node number but the error remains. Please find the enclosed namelist and rsl.error message. I appreciate any help you can provide.

Your RSL file indicates that this case crashed immediately after wrf.exe started. This often implies either a data issue or a memory isuse.
Can you rerun this case over a single domain instead of over 3 domains, and let me know whether it works? This is to test whether memory is an issue in this case.
Also, please clarify what data did you ungrib to drive this case?

Hello, Dr. Chen,

Thank you for your suggestion, but I got the same error when I only adopted a single domain. I used FNL GRIB2 data for WPS with 6hour and 1 degree resolution. I can run this case with another microphysical scheme (for example mp_phys=10) or turn the arecu_opt =0, but when I turn it on, it crashes just the model starts.

aercu_opt = 1 and 2 require the "CESM_RCP4.5_Aerosol_Data.dat" static runtime data file. Please confirm you have this data in your working directory.

Hello Dr. Chen,

THank you so much for your help. It is the .dat file missing that makes the model crash. When the .dat file is in my work directory, I successfully run the model.
