Could not find matching time in input file wrflowinp_d01

Hi!!

I got the following error message during a real case simulation in WRFv4.1.2 with 4 domains, whose grid spacings are 2,700, 900, 300, and 100m, respectively. For the simulation, I set 16.2s for the time step for the outermost domain so that it would be 6 times of grid spacing (6*DX).

I am guessing that it is because the lowinp interval (10,800s) is not divisible by the time step (16.2s).
Does WRF have a capability to handle the gap?

Can you issue the following command:
ncdump -v Times wrflowinp_d01 >& wrflowinp_times.txt

Please attach that wrflowinp_times.txt file, along with your namelist.input file.

Thank you for sending that. I believe you are probably right - that the timestep is causing the problem. We recommend setting the time_step to NO MORE than 6xDX, so it would be okay to set it something more even (say, 15s), instead. Can you try a test with that to see if it helps?
