Hello,
There is a question when i run the ./real.exe on super computer for Single Domain Matthew Case ,the error is 'error opening met_em.d01.2016-10-06_00:00:00.nc for input;bad date in namelist or file not in directory',but the date in namelist is ok,i had link the data from WPS.Stranger still,i can run the ./real.exe at my personal computer which is used the same namelist at the super computer.I also try add the 'nocolons = .true.' in the namelist to change a way of naming, but it didn' work. Also i use the met_em file from persoanl computer to run ./real.exe on super computer, error again, but i use the met_em file from super conputer to run the ./real.exe on personal computer ,it could run, just need to change the name of met_em file.
So i want to to run the ./real.exe on super computer smoothly, what should i do?
there are my namelist.wps and namelist.input.the version of WRF and WPS is 4.2.
Thanks!

Hi Tom,

Your namelist.input looks fine. Please double check that you have met_em.d01.2016-10-06_00:00:00.nc available in the directory where you run REAL. If so, there is no reason for REAL to fail with the error message shown in your post.

If you continue to see the error message, I would suggest that you rerun WPS to produce met_em files in your super computer, then try again. Remember to run the same version of WPS and WRF, e.g., WPSv4.5 and WRFv.5. This is to ensure the consistency between WPS and WRF.

Please elt me know whether this works for you.

Hi Ming Chen:
thanks your reply.I have used the 'ls -l' command to show the data in the directory where my run REAL,it shows the data have been linked from the WPS directory, besides i also try to copy the met_em file in WPS file to the directory where my run REAL on super computer.it both didn't work. For your suggestion that rerun WPS to produce met_em files om super computer with the same version of WPS and WRF,i have tried it several times, still the same wrong.
For the version quesition,i use WPS4.2 and WRF4.2 which are the same vesion.I also think it's strange, and i ever reinstalled WPS and WRF.
