Error when using sst_update=0 with sst_skin=1

Hello,
I would like to run the model with sst_update = 0 and sst_skin = 1.
While real.exe completes without any issues, the model run fails with an error.

When I set both sst_update and sst_skin to 1, the model runs without any errors.

Is it correct that both options should always be set to 1 together?

I'm actually not sure if it's required to use sst_update when using sst_skin. Can you attach your error files? If you have several rsl* files, please package them into a single *.tar or zipped file. Thanks!

It is difficult for me to identify the exact cause of the issue based on the error messages

Apologies for the long delay in response and thank you for your patience. I ran a test case to verify that sst_skin can be used without turning on sst_update. Since it's been a while, I want to first ask if you've been able to make any progress with this. If not, is it problematic for you to have sst_update turned on, since that seems to run without issues? Or does that cause issues for what you're needing to do?

If it's important for you to keep sst_update turned off, can you share some files so that I can try testing your specific case? Please share a couple time periods of your met_em* files for each domain. I don't need the full 2 days because the model stops almost immediately. Please also share your namelist.wps file, just so I can see those settings, as well. The met_em* files are going to be too large to attach to this thread, so see the home page of the forum for instructions on sharing large files. Thanks!
