Hi
@William.Hatheway et al.,
I have implemented the above Python routine for the WRF gust potential estimations, and they match well with observations. This was a high-end derecho-producing MCS (10 August 2020), so the simulated winds are not quite as strong as what was observed, but the general storm structure appears correct.
Here are a few time steps from my simulation, versus the observed wind speeds from the event. All wind speeds shown are in MPH. The simulated derecho is displaced south of the observed derecho and is approximately ~15 minutes fast (further east).

I am working on a publication where I will potentially include some of these gust potential figures. If I do so, how would you like for me to cite your work?
Cheers!
