I think I encountered a WRF issue due to a mismatch in glibc versions between front-end node (Rocky Linux 9.6 + GNU libc 2.34) and compute node (Rocky Linux 8.10 + GNU libc 2.28). Is it possible for me to build the WPS and WRF on the compute node?

Yes, you should be able to build WRF on a compute node, but this may differ between different systems. If you run into issues, reach out to systems administrators at your institution for support.
