How to choose a cumulus parameterization scheme for grey-zone

Hello,
I'm nesting a 4 km resolution domain inside a 20 km domain to simulate 1 year of precipitation. For 4-10 km, grey-zone, the WRF User’s Guide recommends to use either the Multi-scale Kain Fritsch or Grell-Freitas scheme. However, we are not sure whether to turn off or on, choose the above two scale-aware solutions. Do we need to perform sensitivity tests on all possible cases to get results?

I would suggest you run with the scale-aware cumulus schemes like Grell-Freitas ensemble scheme and Multi-scale Kain-Fritsch scheme. You need to turn on this option for all your domains.
Also, before you start the long-term run, it is always wise to do a few short-term tests and verify the results.
