How to reclassify a certain fraction of existing land cover?

Hey there WRF experts,

I'm trying to figure out how to run some simulations where I change landcover from grassland to mixed forrest. However, I only want to change a fraction of the existing grassland to mixed forest. Is there a way to do this? From the FAQ, it seems that I should make land cover changes in the geo_em intermediate files, but I'm not really sure how to make a land cover change that doesn't affect all land cover of a given type.

I'm using WRF version 3.7.

Hi Hannah,
Take a look at this post, which discusses some options for reclassifying particular points. The post is about different variables, but I believe the method should be similar.
