I am new to the WRFDA system and have basic knowledge of WRF-ARW simulations. Recently, I have been trying to assimilate Himawari-AHI radiance data in netCDF format, FY-3B-MWHS in HDF format, and FY4A-Geostationary Interferometric Infrared Sounder (GIIRS) in HDF format, into WRF version 4.3. I would like to know if it is possible to use the original data directly, or if it is mandatory to first convert the data into little_r format.
Additionally, I noticed a table in the user guide that lists supported instruments (see the attached file). However, is it possible to assimilate data from other instruments, such as the GIIRS on China's FY-4A satellite? If so, could you provide guidance on how to proceed?
