LANDUSE issues

Hello,

I am trying to update the land-use dataset in WPS; however, the values in LU_INDEX and LANDUSEF are not being updated correctly.

So far, I have:
  • Converted my land-use data to the required binary format;
  • Updated the namelist.wps file;
  • Modified the GEOGRID.TBL.ARW file.
Despite these changes, the output fields do not appear to reflect the new land-use data.

Am I missing any additional steps in the process? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help.

Hi, See this post that discusses creating a separate section in GEOGRID.TBL for the landuse you wish to take priority - giving it a priority of 2. See if those changes make any difference in your results.

Hi ,

I followed the method you shared, but I keep getting this error message:

ERROR: In GEOGRID.TBL, dominant category at entry 3 cannot have the same name as dominant category at entry 4.

Could you tell me how to resolve this issue? Looking forward to your reply.

Hi!
Thank you for your reply. The previous errors have been addressed. However it, looks like that the model is still not reading my new land use map.
Please find attached a compressed file containing the namelist.wps, index, binary land use map, and GEOGRID.TBL.ARW.
Could you please take a look and let me know if you have any suggestions on what might be causing this issue?
