Missing values encountered at interpolated fields. Stopping application.

Dear all,

I'm a beginner with WRF. I've tried to search for the answer thoroughly but couldn't find any possible solution.

When running the metgrid for the year 1985 I find the following error:

Field PRES, PMSL and PSFC has missing values at level 200100 at i,j= 1,228
Missing values encountered at interpolated fields. Stopping application.

How can I fix this?

I have attached the metgrid.log and namelist.wps. I would really appreciate any possible solutions to this error.

Thank you,
Carol.

Hi Carol,
What type of input data are you using? Is it possible that you're using a subset of data, and that, due to the map projection, when you grabbed the subset of data, there may be small parts missing around the edges of your domain? I ask this because the location where there is missing data is along the first column (1,228). If this is the case, I would recommend obtaining a larger snippet of data, to ensure that you have data to cover your full domain.

Also make sure you're obtaining all mandatory 2d (surface) and 3d fields.

Have you solved this question? l met the same question, and l found we both don't have SOIL HEIGHT data so that the error arise in running soil height varilables.
