Hi everyone,
I am currently working on the evaluation of surface layer parameterization. After some troubles to reproduce the 2-m temperature diagnostic field, I figured out that the exchange coefficient produced by the MM5_revised SL scheme (Jimenez et al. 2012) are indeed overwritten in the NOAH scheme (the module_sf_noahdrv.F ln 3374) where the heat exchange coef. is replaced by the moisture exchange coef. i.e. CHS2(I,J)=CQS2(I,J). Both are pretty different in their initial MM5_revised scheme definitions and do not lead to the same results in terms of 2-m field.
So, does anyone know why the land-surface model NOAH replaces the surface layer coefficients?
Many thanks by advance for your precious and really appreciated help !
