modifying files with read_wrf_nc

Please, I'd like to know if it is possible to edit a variable at some specific vertical level using read_wrf_nc without changing other levels, or even if I could apply different values at different levels. Thank you.

Thank you, I've already did it some time ago, but I have only modified a surface field. Now I'd like to perform an experiment increasing moisture, but I don't want to add a constant value at all levels. Of course, I can create and read a file with the values, but I want to know if there is a way to do it more easily.
