Nested domains with variables grid ratio

Is it correct to simulate the WRF model with three nested domains (d01, d02, and d03) having a variable grid ratio? That is, the grid ratio between domains d01 and d02 is 1:3, and the grid ratio between domains d02 and d03 is 1:5. Kindly suggest some research articles or technical reports to understand this in more detail.

Typically the same ratio is used for all domains, but it is possible to use different ratios as you've described. I am not aware of any specific literature on this topic, unfortunately.
