I am working with WRFDA v4.5.2, attempting both 3DVAR and 3DEnVar. I was able to successfully generate a background error covariance matrix using the NMC method, as well as ensemble perturbations from multiple HRRR-initialized WRF members.
For observations, I sampled composite radar reflectivity from NEXRAD data for the same time and converted them to the WRFDA ASCII format. The DA run completes without errors, but the diagnostics show zero observations used: Number of failed rf observations: 0 on 0. I have verified that the observations fall within the model domain, that the observation heights are above the surface, and that the ob.radar format follows the same example provided in the tutorial. Are there any other reasons that could cause this?
