Reference for greenfrac_fpar_modis data

I wonder the data sources of greenfrac_fpar_modis under directory '/glade/work/wrfhelp/WPS_GEOG/greenfrac_fpar_modis'. Specifically, I also wonder the resolution of the data and when they were collected.

We were provided this data from outside resources and unfortunately don't have a lot of information about it. This FAQ tells the extend of what we know about all of the static data:

Thank you for the information. And if by any chance do you know any information about the land cover classicifation of nlcd2011_9s data or the way that I can check it out myself?

I don't. I just have this link that comes from our Users' Guide, for a place to download some NLCD data. Perhaps you can look around at the website to see if you can find any relevant information.
