Running WRF to p_top at 65 km

Hi:

I am trying to run WRF with p_top to 7 Pa (~65 km). I modified WPS to get more pressure levels
at the top. This worked fine....I produced wrfinput and wrfbdy files. I am following the levels
similar to ECMWF.

When I ran the model, I only got 2 time steps before the model crashed but I didn't get
any useful error messages.

I wonder if anyone has tried to run WRF with p_top so high?

My namelist.input is attached.

Thanks.

What data did you ungrib to provide the initial and boundary conditions for WRF?

if the model crashed immediately, it often indicates that something is wrong in the input data.

I used GFS...I modified ungrib to extract all pressure levels....

I don't think GFS data can be high up to 65km. Extrapolation may produce data on higher levels, however, I am not sure whether such data are reasonable enough ?
