I am getting this error message when I attempt to run geogrid.exe.

Parsed 49 entries in GEOGRID.TBL
Processing domain 1 of 2
ERROR: Could not open /discover/nobackup/djallen4/wrfchem/WRFCHEM/GEOG/WPS_GEOG/soiltype_top_10m/index

I've attached the nameless.wps and GEOGRID.TBL file that was used. Note

lrwxrwxrwx 1 djallen4 s1864 28 Feb 15 14:33 GEOGRID.TBL -> geogrid/GEOGRID.TBL.ARW_CHEM

What am I doing wrong? I do not see any downloadable soil type_top_10m data sets

This error message indicates that the index file for soiltype_top_10m doesn't exist in your directory.
Please put this index file to the location /discover/nobackup/djallen4/wrfchem/WRFCHEM/GEOG/WPS_GEOG/soiltype_top_10m/.

When you download the soiltype_top_10m data, the index file should also be downloaded.

Yes of course but where would one find that data set to download?

In any case, I replaced geog_data_res = 'modis_lakes+10m','modis_lakes+2m', with
geog_data_res = 'maxsnowalb_modis+albedo_ncep_+default','maxsnowalb_modis+albedo_ncep_+default',

and got the code to work without solving the question.

Hi,
I just take a look at the website:https://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/users/download/get_sources_wps_geog.html#specific
soiltype_top_5m and soiltype_top_30s are available but soiltype_top_10m is missing. Is there any special reason you need to use soiltype_top_10m?
