SST values over land on wrfout

Hi,

I am using ECMWF HRES forecast data to force the model. However there are SST values over land on the wrfout files.
I downloaded the grib files as https://confluence.ecmwf.int/display/UDOC/ECMWF+WRF+Test+Data it is explained on this link. I am using avg_tsfc.exe without using sst_update =1. WRF Version is 4.1.5. What might be the problem?

Hi,

Some reanalysis/forecast products set SST to missing value over land, while others have SST values over land. OIn the latter case, SST over land are treated as skin temperature.

Either ways are acceptable.
