Transitioning WPS/WRF to ingest RRFS data

Hello,

Do you have any guidance for people to transition from using NAM input data to RRFSv1? NAM data is ending August 31 and RRFS v1 is supposed to be its replacement but there doesn't seem to be a lot of information about using it for WPS/WRF. Should ungrib be ingesting the 2dfld and prslev RRFS files? Which Vtables should we point to? The only way I've gotten it to work has been using the GFS Vtable for the prslev data and raphrrr for the 2d flux data. That seems odd to me. Is there not a RRFS Vtable that is officially recommended?

Most systems that use the old data are not in a position to upgrade to using experimental MPAS at the moment and just want to transition smoothly to the data NOAA provides. Are there any resources that could be helpful here?

Hi Smeech84,

We haven't worked on RRFSv1 yet. As you may have noticed that there is no Vtable for ungribing RRFSv1.

Please tell me where you download RRFSv1 data. I may be able to take a look, but that has to be after July since my schedule is overwhelming now...
