Using the Scale-Aware LES TKE Scheme with NBA

Quick question regarding using the new scale aware LES TKE scheme (km_opt=5). Would I be able to turn on NBA (sfs_opt= 1 or 2) with km_opt=5?

Hi,
You cannot tun on NBA option when km_opt =5. sfs_opt is mainly an LES turbulence option, not a standard weather-forecasting option.

Would it be safe to assume that sub-grid stressors are adequately resolved when i run an LES with km_opt = 5?

No, I don't think so. km_opt =5 accounts for transition between grey-zone turbulence and LES behavior, but it is not designed to resolve subgrid stresses.
