WRF Error: Bad Termination with Exit Code 9

Hello everyone,

I have been trying to run WRF with three domains of 36, 12, and 4 km, using a time step of 3dx and 2dx (108 and 72 seconds, respectively). The simulation with a time step of 3dx runs without any issues, but when I attempt the simulation with a time step of 2dx, it stops after about 12 hours of simulation, displaying the following message:
AD_4nXeQK0gN6fwbunbc4hUjvKk9RSjJJPoQXOAwYaGmhy-Ndiq5qu5PmeC1qwL3suuDjMOcrBL332mK-8KStsdO23J9ncs1g9PwcT6mR44ALn_VEJtQvHqh06eKq1_2db5_KSpA-X-NMK8n4kqpYrmrmh_CqRCn

What could be causing this issue, and how can I resolve it?

Thank you for your assistance!

Hi,
Can you attach the two different namelists you're using for these simulations? Can you also provide all the rsl* files (packaged together in a single *.tar or zipped file) for the simulation that fails? Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for your response. I have attached the requested files, including the two different namelists and the rsl* files for the simulation that fails.

Thanks for sending those. When you run this, are you submitting to a queuing system? If so, is it possible that you're running out of wallclock time for the failed run? Since using a smaller time step takes longer to run, I wondered if that could be the issue.

This is not the case. I am running WRF on my personal computer, which has 36 cores and 256 GB of RAM (I run WRF with 14 cores).
