I am experiencing another problem with wrf.exe in a high res simulation 1 km inner domain. After many attemps the model always stops at time 6 hours with the below error message. simularton start time 2022-05-30

Timing for main: time 2022-05-30_06:00:00 on domain 2: 13.67384 elapsed seconds
Timing for main: time 2022-05-30_06:00:00 on domain 1: 69.83537 elapsed seconds
Timing for Writing wrfout_d01_2022-05-30_06:00:00 for domain 1: 7.85994 elapsed seconds
Timing for Writing restart for domain 1: 98.12387 elapsed seconds

Program received signal SIGSEGV: Segmentation fault - invalid memory reference.

I have set the limit to unlimited, but still the error remains, any hint on this?

Can you find other error messages in your RSL files? Segmentation could be a memory issue, or it could be caused by errors in physics.

This is the only error message from rsl files. I did 4 simulation adjusting cores/physics but they always stop at 6 hours time step. I can be a memory problem because it is an urban simulation with41 classes.

It is hard to tell what went wrong solely based on the message "Program received signal SIGSEGV: Segmentation fault - invalid memory reference.".
I am suspicious that the model failed due to problems in physics.
Please recompile WRF in debug mode, (i.e. ./configure -D), then rerun the case. With the debug mode, the model will issue detailed information such as when and where the problem popped up first. This will provide some clues how to fix the issue.

Thank you for this suggestion. I have a question about the probable bug, because I had simulations which worked well. Is-this possible? before recompiling again.

Thank you

The model might work in some cases but failed in other cases. The failure can be attributed to various factors, e.g., physics options are changed, domain areas are different, large-scale forcing data and the study period are different. etc.
We need to know exactly when and where the problem first occurs, which provides us hints how to fix the issue.
