WRF output for two-way nested run

Hello everyone!

I ran a two-way nested run for a domain but the outputs I am getting for domain 01 and 02 are somewhat like this:

wrfout_d01_2022-01-01_00:00:00
wrfout_d01_2022-01-01_03:00:48
wrfout_d01_2022-01-01_06:00:00
wrfout_d01_2022-01-01_09:00:48

Similarly for nest domain,

wrfout_d02_2022-01-01_00:00:00
wrfout_d02_2022-01-01_01:00:16
wrfout_d02_2022-01-01_02:00:00
wrfout_d02_2022-01-01_03:00:16

Can anyone explain the reason for the delays in output files? I am attaching namelist.input. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
The reason for this is likely due to your time_step of 96 seconds. Because 96 does not divide evenly into any number of minutes, it throws off the output time. You could try setting it to something more rounded, like 90, to see if that makes a difference.
