Hello to all,

i am trying to set a 2 domains (d01 europe, d02 Athens area) 48h run in wrf 3.6.1 with NCEP GDAS/FNL ds083.3 data for meteorology for the date e.g. 2017-08-25.

While checkingT2 results in a cell at d02 (after converting K in C), I have noticed that:

24.223169
12.484095
11.549280
11.148798
10.835321
10.891321
11.493982
12.080927
12.378412
12.602839
12.960657
13.198847
13.183008
13.096125

Is it make sense that the temperature drops from 24 to 12 C during a August day?
Please, could anyone has an idea on this?
Thanks!

Hi,
I agree that doesn't seem that reasonable, but it's really hard to say what the issue is without knowing any of the options you're using. My guess is that it has something to do with the physics settings, and could be that you're using a very old version of the model, and the code (including physics schemes) have likely been updated to fix issues since then. Can you first give this a try with the latest version of the model (V4.4.1) to see if you still see the issue? If so, please send us your namelist.input file so we can review it. Thanks!
