WRFoutput in .grib2 format

I tried editing the namelist.input for getting wrfout in grib2 format but it failed. Is there any alternate option for getting the wrf output in .grib2 format.

Hi,
That function doesn't work in WRF.
You can run UPP to process wrfout and output grin formate data. However, I do understand that this involves installation of UPP package and some other trivial stuff before you can make it work.
Other tools are also available, like CDO and UK MET office IRIS ((http://scitools.org.uk/iris/docs/latest/index.html)
