I am receiving this problem while running metgrid.exe.

This error typically means you are missing the surface data in your input. Make sure you have obtained all mandatory fields.

Please clarify your issues, what data you ungrib, which version of WPS you use, etc. Without these information, it is hard to tell what is wrong....

GFS 0.5 degree analysis from 15/06/2021 to 16/07/2021.
WPS 4.5.

Please download the GFS data from RDA archive, then run officially released WPS to process the data.
GFS data have been well tested and there shouldn't have any issues.
if you still experience problems, please upload your namelist.wps for me to take a look.

When I use a different dataset, ds083.2, it works fine with the same WPS version. However, the problem only occurs with the GFS dataset. The issue appears with past GFS data, while the current data (e.g., today's dataset) works fine.

Please download the GFS data from RDA archive, then run officially released WPS to process the data.
GFS data have been well tested and there shouldn't have any issues.
