dear friends,
when I used the era5 data to run WRF4.2 and WPS4.2 (ps: I used the Vtable.ERA-interim.pl as Vtable, all the variables like 10m u-component of wind, 10m v-component of wind, 2m dewpoint temperature, 2m temperature, Sea surface temperature, Skin temperature, Soil temperature level 1, Soil temperature level 2, Soil temperature level 3, Soil temperature level 4, Soil type, Surface pressure, Volumetric soil water layer 1, Volumetric soil water layer 2, Volumetric soil water layer 3, Volumetric soil water layer 4Geopotential, Relative humidity, Specific humidity, Temperature, U-component of wind和 V-component of wind), it is normal to run the geogrid.exe, ungrib.exe and metgrid.exe of WPS. but it is unnormal to run the real.exe in WRF. it shows the error of
Max map factor in domain 1 = 1.01. Scale the dt in the model accordingly.
ERROR in psfc: flag_psfc = 1, flag_soilhgt = 0, flag_slp = 0, sfcp_to_sfcp = T

Hi,
Take a look at this FAQ, regarding processing ERA5 data. Make sure you are using the invariant file it mentions during the WPS process. If you're doing all of that correctly and still getting errors, can you send me the initial met_em* file? It will probably be too large to attach, so see the home page of this forum for instructions on uploading large files. Please also attach your real.exe error log. Thanks!

Hi,
Thank for your advice, I have found the problem of my forcing data in WRF. I missed the mean sea level pressure to input.

Hi,
In the link provided in 'this FAQ,' there is a single file named 'ERA5_INVARIANT' mentioned in your message. However, I observed that there are eighteen files available for ERA5 atmospheric invariant fields [GRIB1] at NCAR RDA Dataset ds633.0 Data Access. What could be the reason for this difference? Thank you very much.

Hi,
I'm not sure. I would suggest contacting a support person in the RDA department to see if they can give you an answer. If you get one, come back and post it here for others in the future, if you can!
