How to calculated radiation such as SWDNT, SWUPT etc.

I am curious about what air quality data (e.g., PM, O₃) are used when using the RRTMG scheme to obtain SWDNT, SWUPT, etc.

I would also like to know in which directory of the WRF model these calculations are performed.

RRTMG considers aerosol radiative effects. Depeding on aer_opt, ECMWF aerosol types or total aerosol optical depth are considered.

Please see the paper below for more details:

Iacono, M. J., J. S. Delamere, E. J. Mlawer, M. W. Shephard, S. A. Clough, and W. D. Collins, 2008: Radiative forcing by long–lived greenhouse gases: Calculations with the AER radiative transfer models. J. Geophys. Res., 113, D13103. doi:10.1029/2008JD009944

I conducted calculations of radiation-related variables using the two-way coupled WRF-CMAQ model.

By enabling the aer_opt option, I observed that aerosol optical properties—such as aerosol optical depth (AOD), single scattering albedo, and asymmetry parameter—are utilized in the radiation calculations.

Given this setup, may I confirm whether the model calculates radiation primarily based on the aerosol optical properties derived from the coupled CMAQ output, rather than directly from pollutant concentration levels?

Stand-alone WRF-ARW doesn't consider aerosol optical properties from CMAQ.

I am not familiar with the coupled WRF-CMAQ model . Can you check with EPA people about the implementation of aerosol optical properties from CMAQ?
