NoahMP TSLB and SMOIS depth

Hi,

I would like to validate soil temperature and moisture from the WRF model output using the NoahMP LSM. Are these values valid for the lower boundary of each soil layer, ie. for 10 cm, 40 cm, 100 cm and 200 cm or for the mid points in each layer? I guess the first is true as these values seems staggered, can someone confirm this, please?

Hi Michael,

soil moisture and soil temperature in wrfout files using NoahMP LSM are valid for the mid points in each soil layer layer.

Please let me know if you have more questions regarding this issue.
