Thank you for the guidance. I’ve been downloading ERA5 directly from the CDS using cdsapi in GRIB format; I’ll switch to the recommended era5_to_int workflow and see how that goes.
One point I’d like to confirm before re‑running everything: for the surface fields I currently request the following list. Could you let me know if I’m missing anything essential for MPAS initialization, or if some of these are unnecessary?
