I am facing an error with WPS I suspected the mpi compilation and recompiled single but the error remains.

The error message indicates that you don't have the 'index' file for the dataset of irrigated land percentage.
Please go to the WRF website here,
download this datafile and its index file, then try again.
 
I used this

what I cannot find is irrigation/fao;
 
I created fao dir but still getting the error

It looks like the irrigation.tar.gz file, when unpacked, provided a directory called 'irrigation,' but this should have been called 'fao' to match the information in the GEOGRID.TBL. I've modified the tar file so that now when it's unpacked, you will have a directory called 'fao.' Please try again. You may have to refresh your web page or clear your cache to get the updated file. If you're still having trouble, just simply rename that 'irrigation' directory to 'fao' and it should work.
