the source of the WPS geographical static data

I'm working on Noah-MP LSM, so I need to prepare the static data with the help of WPS. But I wonder where are the geographical static data from. I download it from https://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/users/download/get_sources_wps_geog.html. However, there is no document to introduce the data, like soil type and so on. I wonder what dataset it refers to.

Hi,
The site you mention provides several different options for global static data. If you downloaded the "Highest Resolution for Each Mandatory Field" packaged file (which is advised), the default version of data is MODIS. You can read a bit more about the references for the data in this FAQ. You may also be able to find some additional information about alternate data types in chapter 3 of the WRF Users' Guide.
