Issue running wrf.exe (v4.3) - "USING URBPARM_LCZ.TBL WITH OLD 3 URBAN CLASSES. SET USE_WUDAPT_LCZ=0"

Hello all,

I keep having this issue running wrf.exe. I'm using the w2w tool to include LCZ classification in my geo_em files. I am able to run metgrid and real with these files but wrf fails with this error:

"USING URBPARM_LCZ.TBL WITH OLD 3 URBAN CLASSES. SET USE_WUDAPT_LCZ=0"

And when I test what happens if I set use_wudapt_lcz = 0 I get:

"USING 10 WUDAPT LCZ WITHOUT URBPARM_LCZ.TBL. SET USE_WUDAPT_LCZ=1"

I'm running on v4.3 WRF-comfort WRF-comfort

I came across this solution to this issue Bug for determining the use of urban LCZ parameter table · Issue #1878 · wrf-model/WRF. However, I have checked and I have more than 3 LCZ categories in my domain so this bug shouldn't be an issue to my knowledge.

I'm using 3 nested domains. My LCZ map only sufficiently covers my highest resolution domain.

Does anyone have any idea what my issue might be?

WRFv4.3 contains bugs that prevent LCZ from working correctly, Please update to WRFV4.7 and try again.

I've updated and modified my geo_em files (post w2w) so that the urban classes go from 51 to 61 instead of 31-41. This seems to have done the trick. Thank you for your help Ming.
