Finding SST data for WRF

Hi there,

I am completely new to using SST data and I'm not sure where to start. I think I understand what I'm supposed to do once I actually have the data, but I'm not sure where to get it, especially in a form where I can use ungrib on it. I'm currently modelling temperatures in Toronto, but our Lake Ontario temperatures are far too cold. My supervisor thought that we would need to change the input temperature in the met_em files using SST data. I'm modelling June and July 2018 right now, and I'm not sure where to find SST data that I can use for this period. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be so appreciated! My colleagues haven't used SST data either, so I'm really not sure what to do.

Thank you in advance!

Please take a look at the ebsite here: NCEP SST Analysis
probably you can find more accurate SST data to use for your case.
Thank you, but unfortunately I'm getting a 404 error on those links. I did download data from OSTIA, though, but it's in binary format and I'm not sure how to convert it into something usable for WPS. I've tried cdo and obtained the following error;

cdo -f grb2 copy METOFFICE-GLO-SST-L4-NRT-OBS-SST-V2.dods MetOffice.grb
cdo copy: Open failed on >METOFFICE-GLO-SST-L4-NRT-OBS-SST-V2.dods<
Unsupported file type

If you have any advice on this step, I would appreciate it! If it's better to ask this question in a separate post, I can do that as well!
