Hello,
I have a problem running WPS with ERA5 data. I have downloaded 2 grib files, one for pressure levels (all pressure levels) and the other one for single level data (all variables ecept precipitation type, K index and total totals index). But it seems like metgrid doesn't recognise surface...

Hello
I have seen a pdf about using ERA5 data in the WRF model.
In that instruction, the author told that we need to download two kinds of data (Pressure level and surface analysis)
as you know, there are a lot of parameters in both of them.
due to the limitation in processing, it is important...
Hi, I'm trying to WRF to find solar irradiance. I downloaded the data from this site Index of /pub/data/nccf/com/gfs/prod
I'm getting error while running Metgrid.exe

Hello everybody!
I created a new climatology for "greenfrac_fpar" based on GLASS_MODIS products in tiff format, one file for each month.
I merged the files into one file with separate bands in QGIS in tiff format.
But when I went to convert the new file using this link: GitHub -...
I have a 4km 120hr WRF run that is created in 5hrs.
But when I nest in a 1km grid it increases the time dramatically to finish the run.
So my question is can I use the output from the 4km 120hr run as initial data for a new wrf run at 1km?
I don't see a vtable in ungrib for WRF on ARGWRF. So...
For some reason when using Intel Compilers it is defaulting the output file name to "PFILE" instead of "FILE"
This then causes all the following commands to break because it is looking for a file that isn't there.
Environment is the same as this post for a similar error...
I recently noticed that NCEP's SST data is no longer available. So I'm thinking of using this site (GitHub - bbrashers/WPS-ghrsst-to-intermediate: Converts JPL PODAAC GHRSST netCDF files to WPS Intermediate version 5 files) to incorporate SST, but I'm a beginner and I don't know what to do or...
Dear WRF Community,
I am running WRFV4.4.1 . In this process, I have given a test run with default namelist.wps and then ./geogrid.exe (WPS)
After this execution, I would like to see my domain(which is 2 domain) using ncl util/plotgrids_new.ncl. But in the plot, I could visualize only single...
Hi there,
I'm trying to add SST data into my WRF model of the Greater Toronto Area. I've downloaded some data from OSTIA, but the only options to download the data were ASCII and binary (.dods). Since I need to use this data in WPS, I was trying to format the data as a grib2 file using CDO, but...
Hi there,
I am completely new to using SST data and I'm not sure where to start. I think I understand what I'm supposed to do once I actually have the data, but I'm not sure where to get it, especially in a form where I can use ungrib on it. I'm currently modelling temperatures in Toronto, but...
Hello there, I hope you're all having a good holiday season. I am working on a Puerto Rico model focused on the Saharan Air Layer using future CMIP5 RCP 8.5 data (link below):

This data-set is in the form of...
my ./ungrib.exe runs fine, but when it gets to the last date (3 month run) it seems to stall without finalising. all the PFILE's are in the WPS directory, but not deleted, etc.
Any ideas?
Anyone been successful in converting the ghrsst data for SST etc., to intermediate format?
I can get the program to read my geo_em.d01.nc, but then it stops when trying to read the ghrsst.nc file.
I've ran the makefile (adjusted for my environment etc) - attached, and the program is built.
But...
Hello,
I am just trying to install WPS in Cheyenne, and I failed. I can configure it successfully. Please have a look at my compile.log. I use GNU to compile WRF because I am not able to compile with Intel without any hint. I choose 1 in configure option.
Thanks so much for your help.
hello,
I am trying to run WPS. I've completed the geogrid.exe and ungrib.exe. However, when I try to run metgrid.exe, I got this error:
My WRF version is 4.4 so I don't understand why I get this error.
is there anyone can help me?
thanks!
How can we visualise the static geographical data (e.g., one landuse_30s file in GEOG)? Any matlab/python code available? Help is solicited ASAP. I am attaching a sample file for your reference.
regards,
V. Hazra
